The National Spring Clean in Tullamore was a great success today with lots of new faces and a genuine buzz and pride around the town - the kind of community spirit that's needed to help Tullamore win the National Tidy Towns someday. Still plenty of room for more support with Wednesday evening cleanups each week. Also the estate groups and businesses doing their bits on a constant basis all works towards the better appearance of the town for locals and visitors alike. Seeing the canoe club on the canal in glorious sunshine and the laughter and smiles of the tourists visiting Tullamore Dew today should bring a bit of pride with the fact that Tullamore has an amazing resource and genuine friendly people that has so much untapped potential waiting to be fulfilled. Everyone should play a part. Great work today from Tullamore Tidy Towns, Offaly County Council and Tullamore Chamber along with businesses contributing staff for a couple of hours and community groups (especially the Canoe Club and Scouts) coordinating volunteers.
