Tidy Towns make every effort to highlight the negative impact cigarettes and cigarette butts have on the environment and people's health.

Unfortunately the practice of throwing cigarette butts on the street is widely prevalent and we also find smokers are using the floral planters as cigarette butt receptacles.

We discourage this practice through posting photos of repeat offenders and encourage smokers to use bins and butt receptacles.

Our volunteers are spending more time picking butts and sweeping areas in order to keep the negative environmental and visual impact to a minimum.
